At Langs, our mission is to ensure every person in our community has a place for health, wellness, and support. Our vision of "changed lives, healthy communities" is deeply rooted in our core values of integrity, respect, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Langs is committed to ongoing learning through IDEA - inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. To ensure that the IDEA framework is embedded throughout our organization, the IDEA Action Team has been established with a cross-section of staff. This team meets regularly to create guidelines, tools, and resources for Langs staff and to evaluate policy and practices.

IDEA Action Team initiatives encourage healthy dialogue on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. Through its initiatives, the action team is also tasked with ensuring psychological and cultural safety is upheld for all community members, volunteers, and staff.

This infographic has a tree with five main areas of focus: make IDEA a priority, establish supportive structures, address factors influencing psychological safety, foster partnerships, and eliminate discrimination and oppression

Health Equity Charter from the Alliance for Healthier Communities

The Health Equity Charter is one of the foundational documents that, together with the Model of Health and Wellbeing and Model of Wholistic Health and Wellbeing (for Indigenous organizations), guide our collective efforts in recognizing and confronting barriers to equitable health, and helps bring us closer to our vision of the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone in Ontario.
